Sweet and balsamic pork or beef stake

I decided to continue my adventure in cross border cuisine by mixing best of both....

The main ingredient is a nice steak for me. Nicely marbled beef is a real treat... Mmmmm.....

My ingredients for today:
  • 500g (a bit over 1 pound) beef steak
  • cane sugar
  • some balsamic vinegar (aceto balsamico)
  • Herbes de Provence
  • cumin
  • olive oil
  • wine(optional, but discouraged)
  • This recipe is great for a frying pan or grill.
For starters mix 50ml of vinegar and olive oil and 20g of sugar(2 tablespoons) this is marinade.
Place your steak in a bowl and pour your and spread Herbes de Provence and cumin on one side. Then flip your stake and pour the marinade on the clear side. Let it sit for 10 minutes like it.
The flip the steak again and add some more balsamic vinegar or on this stage wine. Let it sit in marinade for another 30 minutes...
After that you can choose your own method of cooking it.
Grill or frying pan it's you choice.

Grill note:
Do not trow away the marinade, if you chosen the grill. The best way is to strain the marinade of any large spice pieces and sprinkle the steak when it's being cooked, it add tenderness to the finish. This is specially true for charcoal grills.
